FROM LITTLE THINGS BIG THINGS GROW!

The journey started in Sep 2008 after reading an article in ‘The Age’ newspaper. The article described the plight of orphans in Africa after the AIDS pandemic; my heart erupted, and I broke down (the number of orphans topped 1.2 million in 2000 in Zambia alone)At the same time, our government was facing the Global Financial Crisis and talking about cutting aid to the Third World. In response to the Government’s position, I established the cycle4africa project

However, awareness of Third World challenges started much earlier with several years on Aboriginal Communities (Kimberley, WA). While the experience was certainly a baptism of fire, I was doing something I believed in.

The  cycle4africa project raised just over $10,000 with proceeds going to Terra Nova Children's Home (formally Kazembe Orphanage) in Zambia

The Salvation Army managed the funding under the stewardship of Captain Russell Anderson

My willingness to support the orphanage in a developing world is based on my steadfast conviction that education is a God-given and inalienable right and the best insurance against poverty.

In 2017 with Josephine’s (my wife’s) encouragement, I devoted energy toward establishing Edukura Pty Ltd (an online marketplace for tutors and students) with a focus on meeting learning needs with real solutions and promoting opportunity locally in the interim but in the future among vulnerable children (particularly girls) globally.

eduKURa Web Application (Beta Version) will be available in late December 2022 OR early January 2024
