FROM LITTLE THINGS BIG THINGS GROW!

The journey started in Sep 2008 after reading an article in ‘The Age’ newspaper. The article described the plight of orphans in Africa after the AIDS pandemic; my heart erupted, and I broke down (the number of orphans topped 1.2 million in 2000 in Zambia alone) At the same time, our government was facing the Global Financial Crisis and talking about cutting aid to the Third World. In response to the Government’s position, I established the cycle4africa project .  However, awareness of Third World challenges started much earlier with several years on Aboriginal Communities (Kimberley, WA). While the experience was certainly a baptism of fire, I was doing something I believed in. The  cycle4africa project raised just over $10,000 with proceeds going to Terra Nova Children's Home (formally Kazembe Orphanage ) in Zambia  The Salvation Army managed the funding under the stewardship of Captain Russell Anderson .  My willingness to support the orphanage in a developing world is based
